The Meeting Targets and Maintaining Epidemic Control (EpiC) project is a global project, funded by the U.S. Department of State and PEPFAR, that provides strategic technical support and direct service delivery to achieve HIV epidemic control; strengthen global health security (GHS), including outbreak response; and improve maternal, newborn and child health (MNCH), nutrition, and malaria outcomes.
EpiC and CSO partners worked with to government of Tajikistan to develop a social contracting mechanism, allowing Marvorid to receive state funding to provide essential HIV services to those in need.

Botswana was recently recognized at the International AIDS Conference for its achievement in reaching HIV epidemic control after surpassing the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) 95-95-95 targets to reach 95-98-98 in July 2022. These results show tremendous progress toward achieving control of the HIV epidemic and demonstrate the extraordinary impact of the national HIV response. Older, unvaccinated adults are more likely to get severe illness or die from COVID-19.
