Achievements
Fiji: Developed and rolled out a training package for primary health care clinicians in Fiji on Post-COVID Conditions (including Long COVID) which the government plans to incorporate into national guidelines and cascade to reach additional health care teams.
Kiribati: Installed 10 transport mechanical ventilators at two public hospitals in Kiribati; strengthened the capacity of 79 clinicians on clinical management of COVID-19; strengthened the capacity of 16 biomedical technicians on ventilator maintenance; and strengthened data collection and reporting capacity by procuring 76 tablets and a desktop computer.
Marshall Islands: Delivered vital health information system equipment to the Ministry of Health and Human Services in the Marshall Islands to upgrade the government’s COVID-19 surveillance system, resulting in increased capacity to collect and manage health data.
Nauru: Installed 10 transport mechanical ventilators at the Republic of Nauru Hospital and trained biomedical technicians to set up and use the ventilators.
Solomon Islands: Developed infection prevention and control (IPC) standard operating procedures for COVID-19 vaccination sites and trained 88 nurses in IPC in Solomon Islands.
Tonga: Engaged 330 community leaders in COVID-19 vaccination awareness activities in Tonga and procured 123 cold chain items to support vaccine storage.
