Achievements

Conducted a landscape analysis of 25 local and international businesses and private sector partners on efforts to maintain operations during the COVID-19 pandemic, challenges that they faced, and response measures taken to alleviate the impact of the pandemic. The private sector’s COVID-19 crisis response measures included revisiting and adapting business models and operations to new realities; staff vaccination support activities; employee well-being programs; donations to charity organizations; purchase of medical supplies and equipment to support health care workers and critically ill patients; support programs targeting customers and partners.

Facilitated a business-to-business national forum, “The COVID-19 pandemic: Response. Recovery. Future Preparedness,” with participation from 51 local and international businesses and organizations. The forum produced recommendations for the private sector and local governments on measures to take during future health emergencies to strengthen communication and collaboration, support employees and beneficiaries during outbreaks, and ensure cybersecurity and further digitalization.

Developed an emergency preparedness plan for businesses operating in Kazakhstan in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and the Kazakhstan Chamber of Commerce. The plan includes a set of recommendations for private and public organizations to coordinate their actions and mitigate risks to their operations, staff, and impact of crises like the COVID-19 pandemic.
