Enhancing mental health and psychosocial support in HIV service delivery programs serving key populations in Asia

The COVID-19 pandemic triggered a global mental health crisis, making the provision of mental health and psychosocial support a critical component of comprehensive HIV programming. In the first year of the pandemic alone, the global prevalence of anxiety and depression increased by 25 percent. Given the proximity to the initial outbreak, Southeast Asia was one of the first regions affected by the pandemic.
