Amir figured knowing his HIV status was better than having to wonder, so he decided to get tested, and Ibodullo—a peer navigator from the Meeting Targets and Maintaining Epidemic Control (EpiC) project—helped him get an HIV self-test kit so he could test himself privately. The test was negative, and the peer navigator told him about PrEP, a new way to protect himself and avoid worry about HIV.
“I wanted to enjoy having sex with my partner and scarcely think of anything else! I came to a decision to try PrEP.”
