Achievements

Developed national plans for communication, social mobilization, and information sharing in emergency situations that are being used by the Ministry of Health’s national programs for HIV, malaria, and tuberculosis.

Developed the national 2024-2030 strategic plan for laboratories, including a One Health approach to addressing health threats to humans, animals, and the environment.

Trained 427 health workers to use and enter data into the national AlafiaComm platform used to manage community health data in Benin, under the leadership of the National Council for the Fight Against AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria.

Built capacity of 56 lead trainers to conduct training on innovative and integrated strategies to strengthen HIV testing and tuberculosis screening in the context of COVID-19 services.

Created a national database of medical imaging services, providing the Ministry of Health’s Diagnostic Explorations Department with a list of all available images services (used to diagnose pulmonary infections including COVID-19) nationwide.
